305-4(b), 305-4(c), and 305-4(j)...........page 115 of the Code

New allowances for Temporary Branch Circuits

NM and NMC cable can be used for Branch Circuits and Feeders in buildings including those exceeding 3-floors.

A new section 305-4(j) requires support for cables used for temporary wiring to ensure that they are protected from physical damage. This eliminates the support requirments for NM and NMC cables found in Article 336. Cable ties, staples, and straps are allowed for supporting the cables.

NM cable is still limited to normally dry locations by section 336-4(a), but NMC cable can be installed in damp (not outdoor) locations by 336-4(b).

Move on!
