iabilities are becoming more and more important when doing electrical work.
110.3(B) requires that listed or labeled equipment be used or installed
in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling.
This requirement links the electrical code to the many standards which Underwriters
Laboratory and other listing organizations use when listing electrical apparatus.
If equipment is installed without following the instructions and an accident
occurs the contractor, the electrical installer, or others may be held accountable
in a court of law.

more subtle but real purpose of the Code is to minimize liabilities. When the Code is established as the minimum electrical standard, work performed according to the Code is in compliance to the requirements as put forth by experts in their fields, the code making panels, and the National Fire Protection Association. | When installed work complies with the current adopted version of the
NEC, the installer's liabilities are minimized! |
